Destiny 2 players also want Dares of Eternity to become the new benchmark when it comes to how seasonal activities are done, considering that this piece of content is fun, engaging, and extremely rewarding. Players can obtain a slew of new weapons, an Exotic ship, and plenty of cosmetic items, all completely for free. This is unlike any other activity in the game thus far, with only Menagerie coming close, at least back when it was bugged or overtuned.

Among all the weapons that Destiny 2 players can get in Dares of Eternity through Treasure Keys, there is a new sword called The Other Half, which is half of a Halo Energy Sword and complements Half-Truths, another sword introduced with the DLC. Both weapons have great perks and both can roll with the new perk Eager Edge, that allows Destiny 2 players to “sword skate” once again. However, it seems that The Other Half is a much rarer drop than its counterpart, and this is by design, according to Tom Farnsworth, Senior Design Lead at Bungie.
Destiny 2 content creator and YouTuber Ehroar also shared a video on the subject, comparing all the three new swords, even though there is a fourth now with The Dawning event: Zephyr, which can roll with the unique Cold Steel perk. During Ehroar’s comparison, the YouTuber noticed that The Other Half has the best perk pool in the whole game at the moment, but they never found it in over 100 Treasure Keys, and thus couldn’t really test it. Because the sword is so rare, it’s also really hard to get the exact perk combination players may want.
Destiny 2’s new Dawning sword is still good if players manage to get it, but it is not as universally strong as The Other Half. As such, an official statement from Bungie regarding the drop rate for The Other Half would be beneficial, even though players shouldn’t expect actual numbers.
Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
