Fearful of the misunderstanding that arises from calling the police, the two friends and their roommate decide to take the unknown girl away to a safe place before notifying the police of her condition. However, factors outside the friends’ control come into play as the strange girl’s friends track her phone to hunt down her location. The Emergency trailer provides some moments of excellent comedy, but beneath the laughter, the film will attempt to shed light on the fear of racial bias in police authority.
As noted in the Emergency trailer, the comedic thriller will definitely have some entertaining moments, but the realism beneath the surface may take audiences on a different journey. The film’s director and cast noted the impact of those moments, which prompted them to mentally prepare emotionally before diving into shooting. It’ll be interesting to see how the film is received once it officially arrives, but it’s clear that while comedic, the narrative has something to say worth listening to.
