That trend continued earlier today during Square Enix’s most recent Active Time Report, which is what the publisher calls a series of press conferences it has held primarily focused around updates on Final Fantasy 15’s development. While there wasn’t much to discuss in terms of development given the fact that Final Fantasy 15 is so close to its global release date, Tabata had a different announcement in mind - starting tomorrow, Japanese gamers will have access to an exclusive demo called Final Fantasy 15 Judgment Disc.

It’s an interesting decision from Square Enix, especially because many gamers will likely have made up their minds about Final Fantasy 15 by now. According to Tabata, however, the demo is very important for the region it’s being released in, and is meant specifically for those who are still undecided about whether or not they want to purchase Final Fantasy 15. The demo will feature the first hour or so of Final Fantasy 15, and it features the final retail version of the game.

The demo will be available for download on both Xbox Live and PSN, and those without online connections in Japan will be able to play in-store demos across retail locations in Japan. Square Enix’s liberal use of downloadable demos bodes well for those who plan on purchasing the season pass for Final Fantasy 15, as the publisher seems open to suggestions about what Final Fantasy 15 DLC should look like pre-release and will likely continue that policy once it finally launches.

Unfortunately, it seems that what must be Final Fantasy 15’s final demo won’t be released in the west, which will make the wait for the game just a little bit longer. Those looking for distractions, however, need look no further than community-made content like one YouTuber’s remake of Final Fantasy 15 for the PS1. It’s not quite a hands-on demo of the final version of the game, but it’s a nice little reminder of how far the series has come and what an achievement Final Fantasy 15 could be once it finally releases.

Final Fantasy 15 will release for PS4 and Xbox One on November 29, 2016.
