The Quibi event in Fortnite started Friday at 2:00 p.m. PT and will last until 2:00 p.m. PT Saturday. The event itself entails an episode of the new Punk’d series playing on Fortnite’s Risky Reels drive-in theater. The episode starts at the top of the hour, every hour for the 24-hour event. Players can check it out right now. The episode runs for just 10 minutes, so players can watch the full thing without worrying about missing too much.

Quibi launched on April 6, so this Fortnite partnership is intended to be a big advertising opportunity for the video streaming service. Fortnite’s young audience fits with the viewership that Quibi is targeting, so it makes sense for Quibi to make it happen. It doesn’t necessarily make as much sense for Epic Games, but the dirge in advertising right now as movies are being delayed may have forced Epic’s hand.

The new Punk’d show is different only in a couple of different ways. First, episodes are just 10 minutes, as is Quibi’s gimmick. And second, the show is now hosted by Chance the Rapper instead of Ashton Kutcher. The goal seems to be recreating Punk’d for a new generation.

Punk’d is just one of Quibi’s 10-minute launch shows. Other shows include Steven Spielberg’s After Dark horror show, which can only be watched at night, documentary Fierce Queens, and reality show Kill the Efrons. Punk’d is the only show being shown in Fortnite, though.

Altogether the Quibi partnership is a strange addition to Fortnite’s long history of larger-than-life in-game cross-media events, but there will likely be many more crossovers for the battle royale in the future.

Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and iOS and Android devices.
