DC is reportedly looking to bolster its gaming output, evident by the number of superhero related games in development. Some of these include Rocksteady Studios working on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, along with a Wonder Woman solo game by Monolith Productions. A Bat Family-focused title known as Gotham Knights is also going to be released this year. These all have their own styles to appeal to a specific audience, with DC Justice League going in a different direction than most might expect.

DC Justice League will be more family-oriented and less gritty than other DC games currently in development. It’s being developed by Outright Games, a game studio that has worked on similar titles in the past. This includes My Friend Peppa Pig, Hotel Transylvania Scary-Tale Adventures, and upcoming DC Comics game DC League of Super-Pets: The Adventures of Krypto and Ace.

This is evident with the teaser trailer released by Outright Games for DC Justice League. The game has a similarly family-oriented cartoony look to each member. This iteration of the team will include Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, the Flash, Cyborg, and Aquaman as playable characters. A portal then opens up behind them, with a release window of 2023, alongside an evil laugh at the end of the trailer. This maniacal laughter is speculated to be Batman’s eternal nemesis, the Joker.

This game will be coming to both PC and modern consoles on the market. The reception for this trailer is a bit mixed, with some finding the cartoony family-friendly artstyle adorable, while others are feeling the opposite. Some fans might have expected a more modern and mature title, similar to the Arkham games or other mainstream superhero games. Fans will have to wait till next year to see if their doubts about this Justice League game are founded however, as this trailer doesn’t show any gameplay at this time.

DC Justice League is in development for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
