Robertson shared his insight on his Patreon-exclusive podcast, where he discussed how the new Knights of the Old Republic game will be a revival of the franchise. Robertson said:
According to Robertson, BioWare is “wiping the slate clean” with the new Knights of the Old Republic title in order to bring the series in harmony with the current Star Wars canon. This is good news considering the plethora of additions to the Star Wars universe since gamers last experienced the Knights of the Old Republic. Robertson added:
Rumors have swirled for years about a new Knights of the Old Republic title, so it’s nice to finally hear from at least one source that such rumors are true. Unfortunately, Robertson didn’t have any information as to where exactly the game is in development or when gamers could expect it to release.
If BioWare is working on a new Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic game, it would be one of many Star Wars titles currently in development. Battlefront 2 is set to release later this year from EA and DICE, and another is in development by Visceral Games. It’ll be interesting to see how each of these titles fits together in the Star Wars universe.
