The product has a significantly larger screen (4.2 inches in fact), and weighs roughly 50% more than the DSi. There is also a brand new stylus that doesn’t actually fit in the DSi XL system, but will be an additional stylus offering more bulk for the player as an option.

The confirmed colors for the upcoming DSi are not your traditional Blue, Pink, or Black but instead will be Wine Red, Dark Brown, and Natural White (Okay, so it doesn’t get more traditional then white, but you get what I’m saying). 20,000 yen (or $220) is what Nintendo is saying the system will cost you, which is not a bad deal considering the PSP Go will cost you $250, but that being said, it is still a bit of a rip.

The system will release on November 21st in Japan, and it has just been confirmed by Nintendo of Europe and Nintendo of America that the it will also wash up on our shores. Nintendo of Europe confirmed in a statement to Videogamer that the DSi XL will launch in Europe sometime in the 1st Quarter of 2010, Nintendo of America also confirmed that the DSi XL will be hitting NA around the same time.

If you already forked over the cash to get a DSi then I would recommend waiting for the next installment, because at the rate Nintendo seems to be pumping out updated consoles, it should only be about a week after the releases of the DSi XL.

What do you think of Nintendo’s Newly Announced DSi XL? Are you mad you bought a DSi now?
