The Pawn Takes Pawn puzzles have been going on for weeks, leading fans along with new information at a steady rate. With as much work that went into completing the challenge, many players were expecting a major reward for the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War community. Instead, fans were greeted with a plethora of prizes that did not meet everyone’s expectations. For Call of Duty Mobile fans, the code will unlock a special calling card, avatar, spray, frame, and weapon blueprint. The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone fans received a new vehicle skin, weapon charm, weapon blueprint, and 5 calling cards, emblems, and sprays.
As for the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fans, the puzzle unlocked a single weapon charm along with a new calling card for the upcoming game. After months of work and effort, many players were expecting the puzzle to rewards a reactive camo, a new bullet color, kill effect or something more tangible for the next game.
The rewards are aptly described by one fan as “feel(ing) like its awarding you for participating in one event.” Many fans considered the initial use of the site an awesome way to reveal Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and zombie teaser, but they expected more out of the site’s conclusion. The ending felt like it rewarded participation prizes for a lot of hard work from the fans.
For those who want to claim the item, players must go to the Pawn Takes Pawn website and use the “/deaddraw” link. From there, simply input the password “1PIECES9In8PLAY1” and make sure that an Activision account is linked.
The items are free for everyone whether or not they participated in the initial puzzle-solving endeavor. Hopefully, the cosmetic rewards will be enough for the game’s community to continue to support the upcoming title.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is set to launch on November 13th for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
