While the series began airing in 2009, its concept had been created 16 years before and repeatedly pitched by Dan Povenmire and Jeff Marsh prior to being accepted by Disney. After being picked up, Phineas and Ferb would run for 4 seasons with multiple holiday specials, a TV movie, and inspire another series, Milo Murphy’s Law, set in the same universe. Since then, there are no current plans to revive the series, but the latest news reveals what Phineas and Ferb are going to do this summer.

Continuing where the show ended, a new movie called Phineas and Ferb: Candace Against the Universe is set to release in late summer. Even though previous Phineas and Ferb episodes have taken place across the world, different dimensions, and even in space, this adventure explores the universe through Phineas and Ferb’s eyes. In the new film promo, while it seems the brothers have to rescue their sister, Candace, it’s more likely that they will have to save the universe from her later on.
Returning for the movie are original voice actors including Vincent Martella and Ashley Tisdale. Furthermore, Povenmire said the plot will be understandable for new people but something veteran fans are able to appreciate as well. With less than 2 months left until the premiere, hopefully, the Disney film has cameos for every important character from the series while focusing on Phineas and Ferb’s latest summer adventure.
Phineas and Ferb: Candace Against the Universe will release on August 28th.
