New Orleans TV station WDSU, citing a law enforcement source, reported Thursday that the New Orleans Police Department issued a warrant — on a simple battery charge — for Beckham’s arrest. Yahoo Sports later reported the department sought a warrant on misdemeanor sexual battery, but the judge declined it. They accepted it after NOPD rewrote it for for simple battery. The new poll, which was published Thursday, shows Biden ahead with the backing of 53 percent of registered voters while the incumbent Republican president is supported by just 42 percent—a margin of 11 percentage points. Tsarnaev’s defense team cites evidence from a recent survey of prospective jurors that suggested it would be difficult to create an impartial jury in the city where the April 2013 bombings took place. According to the Boston Globe, the filing from Tsarnaev’s lawyers state 85 percent of the prospective jurors either believe Tsarnaev is guilty, have some self-identified connection to the case, or both.
