A post on Chinese forum A9VG reveals photos of what appear to be removable PS5 plates. One photo from the post shows a stack of white plates removed from the standard version of the PS5 (the version with the disc drive) piled high on a table. The inside of the plates feature several hooks and while they look like they could keep the PS5’s outer shell fairly secure, it doesn’t look as though the plate will be that difficult for players to remove and switch out for another design....

San Francisco residents were left with a Christmas mystery when they discovered that the monolith, measuring nearly 7 feet tall, had suddenly appeared at Corona Heights Park in the city’s Castro and Corona Heights neighborhoods, according to a Friday report from local PBS station KQED. Health Secretary Matt Hancock told members of parliament in the House of Commons on Monday that genome scientists had identified a variant of SARS-CoV-2 that could be associated with an ongoing surge in cases across the south east of England. He said the strain seemed to be spreading faster than existing variants and officials had recorded more than 1,000 cases so far, spanning nearly 60 regions. Hancock noted the World Health Organization (WHO) had been notified and assured the public there was “nothing to suggest that this variant is likely to cause serious disease” and that it is “highly unlikely this mutation would fail to respond to a vaccine....

Making good on its “No Fun League” moniker, the NFL in 2013 banned the use of alternate helmets, citing concerns they were unsafe for players. However, the league has since relaxed those rules, allowing for teams to use the alternate helmets starting with the 2022 season — albeit with a caveat. An Emerson poll released Wednesday had Trump besting four front-runners who are vying for the Democratic Party’s nomination: Joe Biden, Pete Buttigieg, Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren.
